Major General Chibuisi’s operational visit to Diffa and Malam Fatori is part of his efforts to assess the situation on the ground and to boost the morale of the troops. He used the opportunity to interact with the troops and to get first-hand information on their welfare and operational needs. He assured them of the Task force’s commitment to providing all necessary support to ensure the success of the mission.

Gen Chibuisi used the opportunity to pay a courtesy visit to the chief of Kamadougou in Diffa region, Niger Republic Elhaji Kazelma Mamadou Kyari where he appreciated local support to the MNJTF and appealed for more. Responding, the Chief prayed for the victory of the Task Force and extolled the Force Commander for his constant engagement with the key leaders in his Area of Operation.

The MNJTF has the mandate to create a safe and secure environment in the Lake Chad areas affected by the activities of Boko Haram and other terrorist groups. It consisted of troops from Nigeria, Niger, Chad, Cameroon and Benin. The mission has made significant progress in the fight against terrorism and has helped to restore peace and stability in the region. The visit is expected to further boost the morale of the troops and to reiterate the task force’s commitment to achieving its mandate.
