Abuja, Dec 26, 2025 — The Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN), in collaboration with the United States, have conducted precision strike operations against identified foreign ISIS-linked elements operating in parts of North West Nigeria.
The operation, approved by appropriate Federal Government authorities, was based on credible intelligence and careful operational planning aimed at degrading terrorist capabilities while minimising collateral damage.
According to the Director of Defence Information, Major General Samaila Uba, the strikes form part of ongoing efforts to prevent foreign fighters from establishing or expanding terrorist footholds within Nigeria.
The AFN reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives and property and to sustaining joint and inter-agency operations to restore lasting peace and security across the country.
