Nigeria remains unwavering in its determination to confront security challenges and assert its strategic interests on the global stage, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has said, reaffirming the nation’s commitment to defeating terrorism and strengthening diplomatic alliances.
Speaking on Nigeria’s ongoing national security efforts, the President emphasized that the country will continue to engage partners constructively while firmly promoting national interests.
“We face challenges head-on and remain steadfast in our commitment to engage partners and champion Nigeria’s interests on the diplomatic front. We are confidently asserting our presence on the global stage, guided by unwavering calm, clarity, and a strong sense of purpose,” the President stated.
With terrorism persisting for nearly two decades, President Tinubu underscored that Nigeria will not relent until peace and lasting stability are restored.
“We are indeed faced with terrorism — a challenge Nigeria has faced for almost two decades — and we will not back down. Security is non-negotiable, and we will never compromise on this principle. With unwavering courage and a steadfast commitment to the rule of law, we will prevail.”
He reaffirmed Nigeria’s unity, stressing that the nation remains one family rising together in strength and determination.
“Nigeria is one united family. We rise together, move forward together, and reject despair in favour of determination. Our future is far more robust and stronger than any fears we may have.”
The President highlighted progress achieved in the past two years and pledged continued reforms aimed at building a prosperous, inclusive, and secure Nigeria.
“The task ahead is immense, yet our resolve is even greater. We will build on our reform gains and deliver a prosperous Nigeria. We will leave no stone unturned in eliminating criminals from our society.”
He urged allies and international partners to continue supporting Nigeria’s counter-terrorism campaign, assuring that the country remains a dependable partner in global peace and security.
“Nigeria will remain a reliable partner and steady voice for stability. We welcome collaboration and support as we strengthen both security and economic growth.”
President Tinubu also paid tribute to the Nigerian Armed Forces and intelligence community, honouring their courage and sacrifice.
